Mymba Rayhu, which translates to "animal love" in English, was a youth-led initiative that aimed to improve the lives of stray dogs while raising awareness of the importance of recycling.
Our main goals are to make people worry about the situation of stray dogs, and recognize the commitment involved in their adoption; we also seek to collaborate with the elimination of plastic waste.
*Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are currently in a gap year. We hope to be back soon!
Mymba Rayhu started in September 2017 as a community project in Asunción, Paraguay.
Diana Vicezar founded Mymba Rayhu as a high school student after discovering that approximately 150,000 dogs were abandoned in Paraguay and that the amount of garbage generated in her hometown was an amount equivalent to 1,000 tons of waste per day .

world for two large groups, humans and our most loyal friends, dogs.”
PILLARS OF FOCUS
Shelters for stray dogsWe build shelters made of totally recycled materials (plastic bottles and milk containers) for abandoned dogs. The shelters are built by Mymba Rayhu volunteers and students from schools across the country. Once the shelters are built, we place them in the bus and taxi stations, so that the stray dogs can have a roof to protect themselves from the dangers of the streets. We also do it as a way to create awareness, so that people can realize the situation in which these animals live.

EducationWe organize #MymbaKids at schools and local libraries where through dynamic activities like making posters and recycled crafts, we teach children how to become agents of change in their communities and create awareness about the damaging impact of plastic on our environment and the importance of caring for animals.
|
Awareness CampaignsWe also carry out campaigns as a way to raise awareness about the animal abuse and plastic pollution. During April, the month of "The prevention of cruelty to animals", Mymba Rayhu volunteers give orange ribbons to people in parks, shopping centers, markets and libraries.
