Diana VicezarFounder & Executive DirectorDiana Vicezar (19) is the founder of Mymba Rayhu (which translates to "animal love" in English), a youth-led initiative that improves the lives of street dogs while raising awareness about the Importance of recycling.
Diana created Mymba Rayhu in September 2017 at the age of 16, after discovering that approximately 150,000 dogs were abandoned in Paraguay and that the amount of garbage generated in her hometown, Asunción, was an amount equivalent to 1,000 tons of waste per day. Diana began her English studies in 2016, thanks to the "Access" scholarship offered by the United States Embassy in Paraguay. In 2018, she was selected as Youth Ambassador of Paraguay, and represented her country in a program sponsored by the United States Department of State. That year, she also became the first EducationUSA Academy scholar from Paraguay and attended this program held at Temple University in Philadelpia, Pennsylvania. In 2019, Diana was named by the We Are Family Foundation as one of the 33 Global Teen Leaders and traveled to New York City to participate in the Just Peace Summit. The same year, she was accepted into the Latin American Leadership Academy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In addition, Diana got accepted into the Young Leaders Access Program, held at New York University-NYU and Champlain College. Thanks to her leadership experience as the Executive Director of Mymba Rayhu, Vicezar was recognized by her hometown, Asunción, with the 2018 Youth Excellence Award. |
Myrian AyalaLogistics Coordinator - Chapter Coordinator (Costa Rica)Myrian Ayala (18) has been part of the #MymbaTeam since 2017. Currently, she is a Junior at the United World College in San José, Costa Rica.
In 2016, she got a scholarship offered by the United States Embassy in Paraguay, called "Access Program" to study English for two years. Thanks to this scholarship, she met the other members of #MymbaTeam and began volunteering as Logistics Coordinator. Myrian loves animals, in fact, she has 4 dogs. She likes creative names and a clear example are the names of her dogs: Coqui, Rocco, Nena and Nenita! Gelbert Artiaga CrescencioChapter Coordinator (Philippines)Gelbert is currently a senior in high school. He graduated Junior High School at San Jose National High and was later granted a scholarship to pursue Senior High School at Holy Name University- Tagbilaran City under Science,Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strand. Having graduated With Highest Honors in Junior High School, he was then given a full scholarship to attend in the said university and was able to conduct research concerning the application of nanotechnology in medicine. His capstone research entitled "Inhibitory effect of ethanolic extract of T.pandacqui synthesized with Silver Nanoparticles on Methicilin Resistant staphylococcus aureus" was included in the the Top 10 Best Capstone Research for the year 2020.
Last year he became the top scorer in the Provincial Chemistry Olympiad and was able to secure his slot in the recently concluded Regional Chemistry Olympiad. He also became a youth leader in the Socio- Economic Pillar of the ASEAN Youth Conference 2018 in Singapore and an alumnus of Temple University's Intensive English Language Program (IELP) in Philadelphia, Pennslyvannia, USA. Gelbert became part of the Mymba Rayhu Family last 2019 where he became the Chapter Coordinator for the Mymba Rayhu Philippine Chapter. Right now he is on his way on pursuing college degree where he will be majoring in Biology or Neuroscience. |
